Although we have lived here for a couple of years, various bookings abroad and busy planning ahead had kept us from truly experiencing a holiday in our new home. So, this year, my partner and I decided to stay home and finally explore the beauty of Bavaria.

Self-Care Yoga Class – 90min Move & Rest

Every last Friday of the month, there is a 90-minute yoga class that combines Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga. The one I attended was amazing. It left me refreshed and rejuvenated, it was the perfect blend of stimulating movement and deep relaxation.

The 60-minute class was a powerful mix of meditation and pranayama. We worked on balance, strength, and flexibility.

This 60-minute class was focused on mindful and therapeutic Vinyasa-inspired yoga, a mix of meditation and pranayama. We worked on the connection between body, mind, and soul. After class, we all had dinner. And oh boy, what a beautiful evening that was!

For me, it was a “discovering something very valuable” experience, as it was the first time I had meditated with someone I am familiar with and have a connection with. It was a different experience in a positive way. And I learned how to journal.

I really enjoyed the Monthly Community Circles at the Wellness Sanctuary. We focused on a different topic each month and discussed our feelings and experiences while offering support. In one session about joy, we talked about finding joy in everyday life. During the Nervous System Healing session, we learned about breathing techniques and how to manage our nervous system. These sessions were full of valuable knowledge and care.

I enjoyed attending these sessions as much as I enjoyed attending Monthly Community Circles. The intimate gatherings allowed us to share and connect on physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and relational well-being. The small group size ensured everyone received attention while still allowing for diverse perspectives.

Cacao & Sound Circle Connection (in person)

Ceremonial Cacao is a special kind of Cacao that is distinct from regular cocoa. It is a heart-opening medicine rich in magnesium and antioxidants. In the Cacao Circle at Paulina’s home, we reconnected with ourselves, honored Mayan wisdom, and expressed gratitude for nature’s teachings and our souls. This experience was followed by a sound meditation, which helped us switch off and fall into deep relaxation. It was the first time for me, but certainly not the last!

My Biggest Takeaway

My biggest takeaway from spending time with Paulina is once again proving to myself that self-care is not an occasional practice. And even though I knew it, it was good to be reminded that taking care of myself and feeling love for myself has a positive impact not only on me but on those around me, too.
